1981年10月，趙蜀剛博士代表本校正式向加州政府申請登記，於1982年正式成立學校，同年也寫下"Bylaw"是本校唯一的法定典範，也於此訂下我們多年依循的行政系統，次年1983年，施超和陳景虹教授夫婦倆與家長們多年辛勞的奔波下，為了方便住在各方的家庭，跑了十多地點，並且考慮到費用問題，成功的與L.A.學區簽下了租金很便宜的教室，也就此結束了在外?#27969;浪?#30340;日子。
本校沒有固定的辦公室，校長們兼搬運工，肩負了眾望及歷年來的文件檔案，每週奔波的堆砌出了學校和孩子們的成長，直到前董事長、校長吳如真女士捐借出了我們的?#36774;公室?#65292;運籌帷幄我們終算有了方寸之地。
校內、校外，行政校務全靠同心協力的熱心家長們，有的默默工作，有的出錢出力，這樣的身教包涵了多少中國人代代相傳的美德！
本校堅守非營利之目的，並以收支平衡為原則；政治中立，以申有教無類的一貫立場，我們一本創校初衷的根本精神和目標，坦坦蕩蕩的相應古人的智慧，前人的期予，冀能以我們今天的成就，與大家相期共勉我們下一代的希望。

A Brief History [Chinese]
The school started with six Chinese families teaching their children regularly in 1967 out of their homes. Two years later, the enrollment increased to 20, and the classroom moved to the Palms Middle School. Year after year it has continued to grow into the full-scale language school today.
In 1977, it was officially named the Chinese Language School of Southern California. In 1981, it was registered with the State of California. One year later, it was finally officially established as a school. The School organization charter was paid and established the same year.
In 1983, the school and the Los Angeles School District signed a lease on the school at Palms and it is here that the school has remained.
Present Situation:
The school has over 250 students from Chinese and local families living in Culver City, West Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Based upon the students?age and scholastic standing, the students are divided into 16 classes including Ping Ying (spelling) and high school credit classes.
Generally, a student attends twothree hours of Chinese study and one hour of outside activities every Saturday morning. For credit class students, there are four hours of Chinese.
Outside activities include fine arts, paper folding, calligraphy, martial arts, sports (ball play, volleyball) field and track, Chinese movie reviewing, cartoon drawing, Chinese dancing and advanced Chinese language study.
Teachers are selected by the school. The school administration is managed by the parents on a volunteer basis.
Besides the activities in school, the group also participates in various other activities sponsored by other local Chinese organizations in order to establish a close partnership among all local overseas Chinese.
Organization:
The student families are the basic member units of our school. The principal, vice-principal and treasurer are elected by all members. Other officers are appointed by the Principal for one year service terms. Daily business is handled by the Principal or other delegated officers. Each family member is expected to render 20 hours of service each year. School directors include the principal, a representative from the officers of the school, a representative from the teachers, and 3 representatives from the student families. Together, this group of directors make themakes the final decisions for the school.
